From the outside, this hidden treasure just off Lincoln looks as if it could pass for a low rent strip joint, but once inside the gold & red velvet wallpaper will soothe your apprehensions and the prices won’t break your wallet. The Garter even offers up grub with a menu ranging from Frito Lay products to a couple different kinds of beef jerky. Never too crowded on weeknights, it makes for a great place to have a drink and chat. Not to worry if there’s no one tending bar, chances are they’re just playing stick with the regulars at one of the pool tables on the side.
